Course Description:
This training explores ways clinicians can work with families who have had children in the NICU. NICU families often experience trauma on multiple levels and have specialized and specific treatment needs. During this training, clinicians will review common challenges associated with working with NICU families, learn about family’s experiences in the NICU, develop an understanding of strategies to treat trauma and other needs in this population, and will practice experiential exercises including mindfulness, expressive art, and music informed techniques to support client’s resource building.

- Identify a series of specific techniques and directives to support NICU families including those informed by the AIP model.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the specialized needs of NICU families.
- Describe resource building techniques, including EMDR specific resources and music informed techniques that can be used to address trauma activation.

Gina Rossetti
LCSW-C, EMDRIA Approved Consultant
Gina Rossetti, LCSW-C and EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist, is an integrative trauma therapist and clinical social worker who has over 10 years of experience working with adults, youth, and families.
In her practice, she uses a trauma-informed and attachment focused perspective and has training and experience in EMDR, body-centered psychotherapy, mindfulness, parts work, cognitive-behavioral approaches, sand tray, and expressive art techniques.
Gina has a particular interest in supporting women around complex trauma, relationship challenges, as well as systemic, intersectional women’s issues.
Becky Riley Olin
LCPC, EMDRIA Certified EMDR Provider and Approved Consultant-in-Training
Becky Riley Olin is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), Certified EMDR Therapist, and IFS Therapist. She is also an Approved Supervisor for LGPC clinicians and an EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training.
Becky is dedicated to helping people navigate life transitions, heal unresolved trauma, cope with grief and loss, manage anxiety and depression, parent in a conscious and connected manner, and discover their inner wisdom and capacity for self-healing. She has strong interests in working with parents, providing perinatal and postpartum support, supporting perinatal loss and grief related to infertility, and supporting women around systemic, intersectional women’s issues.
As a therapist at The Counseling Center in Towson, MD, Becky currently offers short-term and ongoing therapy for adults of all ages. She also offers individual and group consultation and supervision.
